What to Look for During a Tour

Last updated 1 May 2026·5 min read

A checklist of things to inspect when visiting a property.

1

Check the basics: water access, electrical systems, boundaries or structural condition, and the general state of the property. Inspect key features relevant to the property type.

2

Look for signs of issues: water stains, structural cracks, boundary disputes for land, or deferred maintenance. Document anything you find with photos.

3

Assess the neighborhood: visit at different times of day, check noise levels, look for nearby amenities (grocery stores, transit, parks), and evaluate access and surroundings.

4

Ask about: total costs (deposits, fees), terms and conditions, any planned changes or developments in the area, and the timeline for completing the transaction.
